Board Member for Brighton Lions

Brighton Lions Housing Society Ltd is a private social landlord with 135 purpose-built flats across 4 sites in the city. We provide independent living accommodation for persons over 55 with a link to the city.

As a volunteer you will help guide and support the work of the society, whilst ensuring the organisation is well-run, financially sound and delivering on its mission to provide quality homes to those with limited means.

Practical Considerations

• Board meetings are held approximately 6 times a year.

• Additional meetings with trustees and staff if required.

• Meetings are held at our head office in Hangleton.

• There is free parking and bus route.

Skills

As a board member, you’ll be part of a team that:

•   Helps make decisions about how the society is run
•   Oversees the management of the society
•   Supports the staff 
•   Ensures governance, legal and financial responsibilities are met.

You don’t need to do this alone—we meet regularly and work together and support each other.

You don’t need any special qualifications to make a difference – just a commitment to give some time to help those living or needing social housing. We welcome people from all backgrounds and we’d especially like to hear from you if:
