Breastfeeding can be a very challenging time for many new parents. Supporting face-to-face in community settings, you can make a real difference by signposting and offering support. If you have experience of breastfeeding or expressing and want to help others, we would love to hear from you.

What you will be doing:

• The trained Breastfeeding Peer Support Volunteers will promote breastfeeding and support individuals in their own infant feeding journey

• Offer to support, encourage and provide information to breastfeeding  women and their families via one-one contacts or in community groups

• Support establishment and maintenance of breastfeeding

• Help to overcome common challenges around breastfeeding to support with achieving personal infant feeding goals.

Practical Considerations

Volunteering takes place in various locations in Brighton and Hove, to be agreed during training.

Details Variety of days/times available, dependent on MILK drop in requirements, can be discussed.
