Brighton Bike Hub Volunteer
Brighton Bike Hub
We’re a volunteer-run project, off Brighton’s Lewes Road, working to enable members of the community to access affordable cycling by providing:
- Free access to tools and workshop space for DIY repairs (donations appreciated)
- Affordable new and used parts
- Advice and support from our volunteer team
- A choice of second-hand bikes at bargain prices.
We are looking for volunteers who can spare a few hours a week to come in a help talk to customers and help to refurbish bikes. No experience is necessary as you will be guided by a Shift Leader and learn about bikes as you go.
There are no previous skills or experience necessary, apart from a willingness to interact with the public and an interest in learning about bikes and bike repairs.
You will be part of a friendly and enthusiastic team with monthly volunteer socials and monthly meetings where everyone has a say.
You will help people in the Brighton community to have access to affordable bikes and the ability to repair their own bikes cheaply, increasing access to cycling for all. You will also learn skills about repairing bikes yourself.
You will be encouraging green transport options and making sure old bikes and bike parts aren't wasted, which is great for the environment.
The location is easily accessible by public transport. Volunteer hours can be regular or flexible.
When do I need to be available?
|We are open from Tuesday to Saturday and have two shifts per day - 11am to 2pm and 2pm to 6pm. You can volunteer for a regular shift or be a floating volunteer
