Care home befriender in Worthing Area

Visiting and befriending an older person living in a care home, usually once a week for an hour.

This might involve activities such as reading to them, or playing a game, chatting, or going for a walk.

Practical Considerations

You will be required to:

• Travel to the care home you are allocated to independently.
• Undertake training, a DBS check and induction before the role starts.
• You will receive ongoing support from the project co-ordinator and an annual review.

There will be meetings with other volunteers from time to time and opportunities for further training.

Support DisabledWe will try and work with people with additional needs if possible but it will also be line with individual care homes' policies as well. We will try and place a volunteer in a suitable setting so they can engage with this volunteering opportunity.

When do I need to be available?

Details	You will be able to organise the best time to visit the care home resident you are asigned to, to suit yourself and and the care home.
