RISE, a Brighton based, £1 million turnover, violence against women and girls' charity, is inviting applications for its Chair to the Board of Trustees.

Trustee roles are open to women only*. They are voluntary with paid expenses. You are eligible to apply if you are eighteen or over and female.

*This voluntary post is open to female applicants only in-line with RISE Memorandum and Articles of Association and the Equality Act 2010.

Skills

Are you a feminist leader with experience in any of these sectors:

  • public sector;
  • private sector;
  • youth/student societies or organisations;
  • commercial or
  • charitable organisations?

We also welcome interest from those with direct experience of domestic violence and/or abuse. In addition to leadership roles and related experiences, we are looking for HR, finance and property development/management professionals - but lack of these areas of expertise should not deter applicants qualified in other ways or committed to our cause.

Our Board members come from all walks of life and bring a passion for ending violence and abuse against women, children, and LGBT people. We are keen to ensure greater diversity on our Board and welcome applications from a wide range of women who would help us better reflect our potential and current service users.

Benefits

  •  Leadership experience in a mission-driven organisation. Serving as chair offers the opportunity to lead a team dedicated to supporting survivors of domestic abuse, shaping strategy, and driving impactful change.
  •  Networking and collaboration - This role provides access to a diverse network of professionals, including other trustees, community leaders and stakeholders in the charity sector.
  •  Reimbursement of Expenses - All reasonable expenses incurred as part of your role.
