As chair of the trustee board, you will provide oversite to the delivery of our core objectives and values. You will work with other board members to ensure we provide a service of quality and support our compliance with Ofsted and the charity commission.
As chair you will also offer monthly 1:1 support sessions to our CEO. We have Bi-monthly board meetings held at our project office in central Brighton on a Tuesday evening. We have a short bi-monthly finance subgroup lead by our treasurer, supported by the chair, our CEO or Finance officer.
We are developing a co produced five year strategy, with our community, service users and partners so experience in this area would be an advantage.
Benefits
As chair you will be supporting our development as a community-based charity, ensuring our systems and procedures are fit for purpose and that our values are demonstrated in all that we do.
We work with over 500 local families, serving over 700 children and 800 young people a year. We have over 2000 service users, and so are a small but vital service, enabling families in our locality to thrive and succeed.
We fund raise and have been well supported by our Local Authority and various foundations and trusts, winning tenders and commissions to increase and improve our work.
Practical Considerations
All our Trustees are DBS checked to enhance level and registered with the charity commission and Ofsted.
Our board meets bi monthly on a Tuesday evening 6.30-8.30pm. Our finance sub group meets every 6 weeks for an hour on teams or zoom again early evening.
We would start the process with an informative 1:1 meeting and then arrange a visit to the project and for the potential chair to meet at least one other trustee.
We would then offer a non-competitive interview (either in person or via zoom) to all candidates.
We offer the chance to observe a trustee meeting and would then progress the DBS check during the induction period.
We are looking for a chair who can steer us developing a five-year strategy to be coproduced with service users, community members. existing and new partners.
Support Disabled
