We are looking for a proactive, hands-on volunteer to work closely with the Director to drive the growth and sustainability of Wandering Emotions CIC. We are seeking someone who will actively contribute to developing and implementing ideas.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Working collaboratively with the Director to shape and deliver a clear growth and sustainability strategy
  • Supporting CIC compliance and operations
  • Exploring opportunities for partnerships with local organisations & community groups
  • Supporting the transition from a volunteer-led model to one that can sustain paid roles.

You will be working with the Director in a small, early-stage CIC, meaning there is a high level of flexibility, collaboration, and opportunity to shape how we develop. As we are currently volunteer-led, this role is ideal for someone who is comfortable working in a start-up style  environment and can take initiative.

Benefits

1. You'll work directly with the Director to shape growth, sustainability, and operations, gaining real leadership-level experience.

2. Your ideas and actions will directly influence how the CIC develops, scales, and delivers impact in the community, giving a strong sense of ownership and visible results.

3. There is potential for progression into a longer-term leadership, Board, or even paid role as the organisation grows (subject to fit and funding).

Practical Considerations

This is a remote roll.

Skills

We’re looking for someone proactive, knowledgeable, and ready to get involved.

Key skills and experience:

  •  Strong understanding of Community Interest Companies, including compliance and governance.
  •  Experience growing or supporting a business, CIC, or social enterprise.
  •  Knowledge of income generation, sales, and sustainable business models.
  • Experience with successful grant applications and funding strategies.
  • Ability to think strategically while also taking practical action.
  • Comfortable working collaboratively with a founder in a small, evolving organisation.
  • Passion for community wellbeing and social impact.

This role is vital to our next stage of growth. With the right support, we aim to:

  • Build a financially sustainable CIC
  • Create paid opportunities for volunteers
  • Expand our services and community reach
  • Develop a scalable and resilient business model.

Your input will directly influence how quickly and effectively we can grow and increase our impact.
