Community Outreach

MCC Brighton offers a service every Sunday at The Level. We provide hot drinks, biscuits and some food to the level community which includes the homeless, young people and families. We also offer a friendly ear and signposting to other support services.

We are looking for reliable volunteers to join us and help with set up and pack away, manning the drinks/food tables and providing a friendly welcoming face to all those that join us. We currently serve around 100 people.

We are now looking to getting back to using our gazebos to provide a safe space for people to meet with us and talk. 

Skills

Most important is a non-judgemental attitude as we often meet with people who are at their lowest ebb. We are a fully inclusive organisation and all are welcome to be with us.

We have roles for the physically fit, involving setting up the space, moving equipment and roles for the less able, involving welcoming and listening.

Experience of/or an interest in, street work is an advantage.

Practical Considerations

The Level is on many main bus routes and has open access.

When do I need to be available?
