TreeAction UK is an environmental conservation organisation and community interest company operating mainly in Sussex. We are looking for regular support volunteers to undertake practical conservation and habitat management on trees we have planted on public land in the Adur Areas of Southwick and Shoreham-by-Sea as well as potentially some school sites in the area.
Roles can involve: tree planting and maintenance, staking and tying; weed reduction; watering support when needed, mulching and scrub clearance.
Skills
No experience is necessary but a willingness to work outside in a variety of weather conditions is important.
We welcome applications from people with previous experience of gardening or wildlife conservation.
Benefits
- The chance to get involved in a local initiative and
give something back to the community.
- An opportunity to gain new practical skills and learn more about wildlife and conservation.
- The chance
to meet new people, socialise and make new friends with similar interests.
Practical Considerations
The sites are reasonably accessible by public transport and there is free parking.
