Coram Beanstalk Trained Reading Helper

Our trained volunteers are at the heart of what we do. Each week they are in primary schools delivering fun, interactive, reading experiences. They provide one-to-one support to children, giving them the help and encouragement they need to find books that inspire and delight, setting children on a path to become readers for life.

Practical Considerations

You will need to be able to make a regular, weekly commitment for a minimum of one afternoon each week. Session usually run approx. 1pm-3/3.30pm. 

Skills

You will need to feel comfortable in a school environment, be able to complete an enhanced level DBS check and have a love of reading. We need people who can commit to a consistent weekday afternoon throughout the school year and who are proactive. 

When do I need to be available?

Details	You will need to be able to make a regualr, weekly commitment, one afternoon each week throughout the school year. As we invest in your training we'd love it if you can commit to us for at least a year. Many of our volunteers stay much longer!
