Purpose of the Role

As an Engagement Community Ambassador you will work in your local community, to connect with local people and listen to their views on health and care services in the area.

What will you do?

• You will have the opportunity to attend and help on NHS Sussex stalls at public meetings, community events, summer fairs, supermarkets etc to reach a cross section of our Sussex communities and make sure their voices are heard and represented when designing and delivering health and care services.

• Help plan these engagements.

• Circulate surveys and help people to complete them.


Skills

We want to hear from anyone who has an interest in the provision and delivery of health & social care services locally and also:

• Can represent NHS Sussex

• Has good local knowledge

• Good interpersonal skills

• Enjoys meeting and talking to members of the public and NHS and Care staff

• Able to summarise key points and feedback as required

• Enjoys working as a member of a team.

Practical Considerations

The role is flexible and can work around you, this includes opportunities on weekends and in the evenings. If you do not have access to a car and the venue is not near public transport, NHS Sussex will arrange alternative transport.
