Event Volunteer - Marshal or Registration

On Saturday 10th October, Sussex MS Centre will be hosting 'Mile for MS' a Sponsored Walk at Brooklands Park in Lancing. 

We need volunteers to assist with two major areas:

• Marshalling
• Registration

With the marshalling role, it will require extended periods of standing. Ideally we need a team of 15 marshalls for the day. There would be an introductory email explaining the role, and the week before the event you would be invited to attend Brooklands Park for a more thorough briefing. On the day of the event, your role would be explained as well as all safety information. 

For the registration role, this can be seated. You would be helping one of the Sussex MS Centre team registering participants as well as handing out medals at the end of the walk. You would receive an introductory email to explain your role and on the day you'd be introduced to the staff member who you'd be assisting. 

This will be a light-hearted, inclusive event to raise money for a local, independent charity.

Skills

Marshal Role

• Ability to stand for periods of time 
• Access to mobile phone

Registration Role

• Basic administration skills (reading, writing, comprehension)

Practical Considerations

Brooklands Park has multiple car parks available, but if possible, you can park at Sussex MS Centre (BN42 4AB) for free and get the bus to Brooklands Park (the 700 runs regularly and has a stop opposite the park).
