In this role, you’ll help manage our financial accounts and assist with fundraising. Tasks include preparing financial reports for committee meetings and funders, drafting funding bids, liaising with funders, and tracking progress from initial applications through to reporting on funds received. 

What you will be doing

You could be involved in all or some of the following depending on your interests and availability:

  • Maintaining and updating financial accounts relating both to the organisation and the members
  • Managing and paying volunteer expenses
  • Managing bank activities and statements and checking against accounts held
  • Preparing and presenting reports for the Director and Committee.
  • Drafting and submitting funding bids for running costs 
  • Drafting and submitting funding bids for specific projects.
  • Following up on submitted applications
  • Monitoring and reporting to funders on grants received.
  • Assisting in income diversification initiatives eg lottery, donate now buttons etc.

Practical Considerations

We have an office day on Fridays in Central Brighton. Other hours are to be worked from home.

We are looking for

  • Interest in supporting single parent families 
  • Excellent numeracy skills
  • Good communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Volunteers with their own laptop for office and home-based work 
  • Ability to learn and use digital systems.
  • Organised and proactive approach to managing tasks and reporting.
  • Reliability and punctuality.
  • Able to and willing to volunteer unsupervised and use own initiative

When do I need to be available?

Details Fridays are at the office in Central Brighton. Other hours to be worked from home.
