Finance Trustee (Committee member)

BrightStore is seeking an enthusiastic individual with financial experience to join our Board of Directors on a voluntary basis.

Skills

• A current or recently retired finance professional.
• A knowledge of not-for-profit/CIC finance, including grant funding, is an advantage. Otherwise an enthusiasm to learn, drawing from sound commercial experience and an understanding of SMEs.
• A strategic thinker with an ability to balance risk and opportunity.
• Clear communicator with the ability to bring the financial information alive to non-finance specialists.
• Willing to play an active role in areas such as forecasting, setting budgets, liaising with auditors and representing the organisation to external organisations.

Practical Considerations

Remote working for the majority of the time.  We do anticipate all our board members attend a store at least once a quarter where possible, which would be during normal working hours.  Our meetings are held in central Brighton, or online, once a quarter, in the evenings. 

When do I need to be available?

Details	We meet once a quarter on a Wednesday evening, usually 6 until 8. Other availability to be arranged to suit.
