Gladrags Costume Resource Volunteer

Volunteering with Gladrags is an opportunity to broaden your skill set whilst giving to your community. This is a great opportunity to learn, develop and share creative skills while supporting a small charity that promotes sustainable textiles reuse practice.

The role can be varied, and we aim to shape the experience according to the skills and interests of our volunteers, full training is provided. General duties can include but are not limited to:

• Business Administration;
• Helping customers with hires and returns; 
• Attending to new customers and helping them to source costumes; 
• Researching and styling outfits for individuals and groups; 
• Assisting with curating costume collections; 
• Sorting donations and supporting our Rehome It! Events; 
• Sewing and repair of garments and props; 
• Supporting our community outreach activities.

Practical Considerations

We are based in East Brighton in a warehouse-style environment, there is street parking and we can reimburse volunteers' travel expenses.

Skills

We have a diverse team of volunteers from different backgrounds with a range of skills and experience. We are mainly looking for volunteers who are committed, reliable and friendly. An interest in theatre and costume is useful, but not essential. We provide training and support and can offer a volunteering experience that is tailored to the individual's areas of interest, skills and experience.

When do I need to be available?

Details	Our store is open on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 10am to 6pm. There are occasional volunteering opportunities outside of these hours.
