For people leaving hospital, adjusting to life at home can be a difficult time. Helping someone get their essential shopping, pick up their prescription or get the heating turned on can make all the difference for them to feel safe at home. This role is based in the British Red Cross office in Hove.

Skills
We would like you to:
- Be available to volunteer on a regular basis in the British Red Cross office.
- Be able to volunteer for 2 hours per week (9am to 5pm Monday to Friday).
- Be confident using computers and IT.
- Be comfortable making telephone calls to service users.
- Warm and friendly with empathy for others.
- Good communication skills.
- Encouraging and supportive.
- Enjoy meeting and spending time with new people.
- Can work independently and as a part of a team.
- Be able to commit to volunteering for a minimum of 12 months.
Due to the nature of this role, applicants must undergo Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check. Applicants will be asked to provide ID documents in support of the DBS check.
