As a warehouse donation sorter, you will be part of a team of volunteers that help sort donated goods at our Warehouse in Hove. This role is essential to provide our shops with quality items for sale.
Skills
We are looking for volunteers that are over 16 to volunteer for at least a few hours a week. The work can be physically demanding and you may be required to stand for periods of time.
What you'll be doing:
- Lifting and emptying bags of donations
- Checking donated goods for damage and condition
- Identifying items suitable for the different shops including any vintage, retro or particularly valuable items as wells as those for recycling
- Sorting donations items by type – pottery, china, ornaments, kitchenware, toys, as well as textiles, shoes and bags
- Sorting electrical and electronic items, checking for damage, passing to our PAT testing team
- Identifying donations that are of higher value and suitable for Martlets E-commerce.

The environment is a warehouse and so you will be required to wear appropriate clothing for the role. There is adequate parking and the warehouse is on a bus route.
