Voices in Exile is a registered charity that works with refugees, asylum seekers and vulnerable migrants with no recourse to public funds in Sussex and Surrey. We offer both practical and legal support including generalist advice and specialist immigration casework for those who would otherwise be unable to access justice. Our vision is of a world where all people are treated with respect and dignity within a system that is fair and just.

We are updating our communications channels, including our website and newsletter so that we can stay connected with our supporters. It enables us to share information about our organisation; the work we do, our challenges and successes.

We are looking for someone to help collate and present copy for our newsletter and website that is relevant, engaging and easy to digest and accessible to multiple audiences including people whose first language is not English.


This role if you you if you have;

  • Good copywriting and word processing skills.
  • A strong passion for supporting migrants and what to help us promote our message to a wider audience.
  • Enthusiasm to connect with staff, volunteers and service user.

You will work with and collaborate with the administrator to identify topics of interest and use information from the organisation to help with copy.

  • The role can be done remotely or hybrid and to fit your availability.

Practical Considerations

Voices in Exile is based in Kemp Town; bus routes 1, 7, 27, 12, 12a.

Street parking is available

Access to the premises has limited access.

When do I need to be available?

Details This opportunity is available during the working week. You will need to have availability during these hours to work with the administrator and other staff members
