The Brighton Half Marathon relies on the incredible support of dedicated volunteers to bring race day to life! Grassroots Suicide Prevention are proud to be Pier Partners with the Brighton Half Marathon 2026. This means that we are looking for 20 Official Brighton Half Marathon volunteers required on behalf of the organiser Sussex Beacon. This is a great opportunity to be at the heart of race day, connect with the community, and help deliver one of the UK’s largest half marathons!
Roles include:
- Road marshalling
- Happy to help – providing information
- Helping at drink stations
- Handing out medals and goody bags at the finish line
- Helping in the baggage storage facility
- Clearing away the debris
- Wheelchair race assistant
- Tail end marker.
Skills
These roles would suit highly enthusiastic, passionate, reliable and helpful individuals who would like to get involved with a fast-growing charity that helps to save lives from suicide.
Would also suit early risers as some of the positions are required to start work from 7am.

Practical Considerations
The start and finish line is situated on the Hove Lawns by the Peace Statue.
Start times typically range between 7:00 - 9:00am with most roles finishing by 2:30pm (some may end earlier)
