Help us offer a free, in-person drop-in service for people who are deaf, have hearing loss or tinnitus, or want to get their hearing checked.
RNID Near You volunteers do 6 main activities to help us make life fully inclusive for deaf people and people with hearing loss and tinnitus.
- Maintaining hearing aids
- Meet & Greet
- Helping people check their hearing
- Informing people
- Administration
- Supporting and finding donors
You don’t have to do all 6 of these activities – you can pick the activities you find most interesting and match your skills and experience.
Skills
You need to be available between Monday - Friday 9am-5pm and flexible to support in at least one session per month (2 - 3 hours).

Practical Considerations
We are currently setting up service sessions across Brighton and Hove and have not got specific locations that we can share with you.
However the locations will be decided on accessibility to the public and appropriate to support those with hearing loss. Mainly central to the city, as well as in local communities in the outskirts of Brighton and Hove.
