Story Trail Guide Volunteer

Amaze is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to volunteer during the Story Trail, as trail guides.

The Story Trail is an interactive sculpture trail, taking place in Brighton & Hove between September and November 2026. The Story Trail is raising funds for Amaze, your local charity supporting families with disabled children.

Our trail guides will walk round the sculptures and talk to visitors about The Story Trail and Amaze.

What you’ll do as a trail guide

As a trail guide, you will:

• walk one of our guide routes in pairs
• speak to visitors about The Story Trail and Amaze
• encourage people to make a donation, or visit our shop
• explain how people can find other sculptures through the app or map.

Volunteering as part of the Story Trail has many benefits, including:

• being part of an exciting city-wide event
• supporting children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities, and their families
• making new friends and connections with other volunteers.

Practical Considerations

Volunteering as a trail guide is flexible around you. You will work in pairs on a set route, on a 4-hour shift. The shifts will take place at weekends and during school holidays, during daylight hours. 

Skills

To be a Story Trail guide, you don’t need any experience. We’d like our trail guides to be:

• reliable – attending the shifts you’ve signed up for
• friendly – a positive attitude when greeting visitors
• team players – a willingness to work together in a team.

Amaze is an inclusive charity, and we can support volunteers with additional needs. We can also support volunteers from age 16 or above.
