Treasurer Trustee

Wishing Well Music for Health is seeking a Treasurer Trustee to help us deliver our next 3-year strategy and lead our work into the future. This is an opportunity to bring your skills into a creative context to support a small music charity making a big impact in healthcare across Sussex and Surrey.

We meet four times a year in Brighton - we like to meet in person, but some meetings can be held online or in a blended format. Extra time in between meetings is agreed depending on your capacity and area of responsibility. 

You don’t need previous trustee experience — enthusiasm, reliability, and a willingness to learn are just as valuable. We will provide any training and support you need.

Role Description

Treasurer Trustee - you will support the CEO with quarterly finance reports to the Board, with monthly book keeping tasks and reviewing finance related risks and opportunities.

The Treasurer role generally includes the skills outlined below however, we will support you with training to develop these skill. You do not need to have professional expertise to apply.

• An understanding of financial reporting including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and cash flow.
• A commitment to ensuring financial transparency, good governance, and compliance with Charity Commission requirements.
• The ability to review and reflect as part of a team
• An understanding of grant funding, restricted income, or reserves management.
• A strategic thinker who can connect financial decisions to wider organisational goals.
• A pro-active approach to solving problems.

Practical Considerations

Wishing Well is a small charity  - we don't have an office or venue. We prefer to meet in person but meetings can be online or blended. We rotate meeting times and days to accomodate personal schedules and commitments.

Board meetings take place at the home of existing Trustees in Brighton/Worthing/Lewes or online.

Supporting individuals with additional support needs and/or disabilities

As a small organisation we would encourage applicants to talk to us about their access needs so that we can be as accomodating as possible. For example, online meeting and/or meeting in fully accessible venues.

When do I need to be available?

Details	Trustees meet 4 times per year. Additional time between meetings may be needed - this can be negotiated with the CEO according to capacity.
