The Hangleton Community Association runs a busy community centre which offers a wide range of activities and support for local people. We’re looking for friendly, caring people to join our team of trustees and to help shape the future of our centre.
A trustee is a volunteer who helps guide and support the work of the community association. Trustees ensure the organisation is well-run, financially sound and delivering on its mission to support local residents.

Practical Considerations
- Board meetings are held 6 times a year
- Additional meetings with trustees and staff if required
- Meetings are held at Hangleton Community Centre
- There is free parking and bus route.
Skills
As a trustee, you’ll be part of a team that:
- Helps make decisions about how the centre is run
- Oversees the management of the centre
- Supports the staff and volunteers
- Makes sure the centre is meeting the needs of the community
- Ensures legal and financial responsibilities are met.
You don’t need to do this alone—we meet regularly and work together and support each other.
You don’t need any special qualifications – just a commitment to your community and a willingness to get involved. We welcome people from all backgrounds and we’d especially like to hear from you if:
- You have experience in volunteering or community work
- Have experience with money, planning, or running things
- You are good at listening and working with others
- You have a passion for making a difference.
When do I need to be available?
| Details | Board meetings are usually on a weekday evening. Times and dates are scheduled considering all trustees availability. Board meetings at least 6 times a year with additional meetings in between. |
