The Hangleton Community Association runs a busy community centre which offers a wide range of activities and support for local people. We’re looking for friendly, caring people to join our team of trustees and to help shape the future of our centre.

A trustee is a volunteer who helps guide and support the work of the community association. Trustees ensure the organisation is well-run, financially sound and delivering on its mission to support local residents.

Practical Considerations

  • Board meetings are held 6 times a year
  • Additional meetings with trustees and staff if required
  • Meetings are held at Hangleton Community Centre
  • There is free parking and bus route.

Skills

As a trustee, you’ll be part of a team that:

  •  Helps make decisions about how the centre is run
  •  Oversees the management of the centre
  •  Supports the staff and volunteers
  •  Makes sure the centre is meeting the needs of the community
  •  Ensures legal and financial responsibilities are met.

You don’t need to do this alone—we meet regularly and work together and support each other.

You don’t need any special qualifications – just a commitment to your community and a willingness to get involved. We welcome people from all backgrounds and we’d especially like to hear from you if:

  •  You have experience in volunteering or community work
  •  Have experience with money, planning, or running things
  •  You are good at listening and working with others
  •  You have a passion for making a difference.

When do I need to be available?

Details Board meetings are usually on a weekday evening. Times and dates are scheduled considering all trustees availability. Board meetings at least 6 times a year with additional meetings in between.
