We are a local community led charity providing services to and with children, young people and families in the Tarner area of Brighton. Tarner is classified as being a deprived neighbourhood. We need a new Treasurer to join our board to oversee financial stability.
Trustees meet once every two months from 6.30-8pm in a Central Brighton, out of pocket expenses are reimbursed and there is access to training and the opportunity to link and learn from others in the voluntary sector. Based in Tarner Park, we deliver services to over 400 people every week, 51 weeks of the year. We are the principal provider of after-school and holiday play schemes for 60 children daily children ages 4-11.
Skills
We would like someone with a financial and/or accounting background. The Treasurer works with the Chief officer and the board to oversee the financial health of the charity. They will chair the bi-monthly finance committee meetings; a full induction and ongoing support is provided for this role.

Practical Considerations
The meetings are mid week in the centre of Brighton and usually take place between 6pm - 8.30pm.
This is a non competitive process and our new treasurer will be supported by an experienced CEO and experienced board members.
The role requires 3-4 hours maximum of the volunteers time and we can be flexible to suit the successful candidates needs.
