Vintage Charity Retail Assistant

We are looking for volunteers on a Friday and Saturday who are interested in vintage, sustainability, and fashion to support our clothing shop OUTFIT here at Sussex Emmaus. Based in Portslade Old Village, we strive to create a culture of reusing, repurposing, waste managing, and recycling fashion.

We manage a wealth of interesting vintage and second-hand stock which changes from week-to-week. We need help to prepare our treasure trove of beautiful bargains and high-end designs, and you will also get to work within a friendly team assisting the public with purchases.

Your duties can vary from steaming and preparing clothes and accessories for the shop floor, researching brands online, pop up sales, events, making beautiful displays or manning the till.

Practical Considerations

• We can assist you with the cost of travelling to and from site
• The 1 or 1X bus from Brighton stops right next to Sussex Emmaus in Portslade Old village
• Shifts over 4 hours receive a complimentary buffet lunch 
• Free on street parking
• Please note: Retail work can be quite physically demanding
