We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help run a small but vital café/kiosk at the Preston Park Clinic. This role goes beyond simply serving food and drinks; it is about providing a comforting and welcoming environment for patients and their families during a challenging time. Your warm presence, a listening ear, and a kind word can make a significant difference in someone’s day.

Skills

Customer Service: Serve tea, coffee, and light refreshments with a smile, ensuring a friendly and approachable atmosphere.

Money Management: Handle cash and card transactions accurately, keeping track of daily takings and ensuring all sales are correctly recorded.

Patient Interaction: Engage with patients and visitors by offering a comforting word or listening ear. Your friendly connection is just as important as the refreshments we provide.

Supporting the Sussex Cancer Fund: Help raise awareness of the Sussex Cancer Fund’s work by sharing information with customers and encouraging donations where appropriate.

Team Collaboration: Collaborate with the Café Manager and Volunteer Coordinator to ensure smooth café/kiosk operations, including stock management, cleanliness, and covering shifts as needed.

Benefits

Training and Support: You will receive training in food handling, money management, and customer service, with ongoing support from the Café Manager and Volunteer Coordinator.

Flexible Hours: We offer flexible shifts to fit your commitments but require reliability and consistency to maintain opening hours effectively.

A Meaningful Experience: Volunteering with us goes beyond making tea or coffee; you'll join a compassionate team dedicated to improving the lives of those affected by cancer.

            Practical Considerations
