Volunteer for the Action for Happiness Brighton Hub
Action for Happiness Brighton
Pledge some of your time to help make the world a happier and kinder place by supporting the Action for Happiness Brighton Hub. Learn more about happiness and support a happier, kinder community in various ways. For example:
- Run a 6-week online Happiness Habits course or be part of the team leading an online monthly group
- Help out with our face-to-face events, including Happy Cafes and workshops
- Leading on stalls at ad hoc events, spreading the word about the Action for Happiness movement
- Promote Action for Happiness's events and resources in the community for Brighton, Hove and surrounding area.

Skills
We have a volunteer pledge, which is centrally important to the volunteer role. "I pledge to create more happiness and less unhappiness in the world around me by taking action every day to be happier myself, connecting with others in ways that help them become happier and volunteering my time to spread happiness in the world." Skills and experiences that are valuable for fulfilling this pledge could include the following:
- Facilitating group conversations
- Helping people feel welcomed and at ease
- Organising projects of different kinds
- Promotion of events and resources.
We can support you with online training, mentorship, community connection with other volunteers and access to evidence-based resources to support yours and others wellbeing.
Benefits
Community connection: meeting other Action for
Happiness volunteers in a global community, and being part of a local team for
Brighton, Hove and the surrounding area.
Resources:
Access to evidence-based resources to support your own and others' wellbeing.
Fulfilment:
knowing that you're helping others and making a real difference - and having
some fun along the way too!
Practical Considerations
Some of our events are online and some are based in central Brighton, so there is flexibility about how you get involved, but ideally you would be able to travel to central Brighton a couple of times a month.
To be approved you need to complete our online training, which doubles up as the application form.
