The Sussex MS Centre is a small, inclusive, self-help, independently funded Centre supporting people with Multiple Sclerosis. We offer drug free therapies such as Oxygen Therapy, Acupuncture, Massage and Shiatsu, and exercise classes including Keep Fit, Pilates and Yoga. Our aims are to maintain flexibility, mobility, and provide pain relief promoting well-being and a positive attitude for those with MS.
We are looking for people who would be happy to volunteer in one of our Keep Fit Classes to help our our teacher Lynne.
It is at 1.30pm on Thursdays.
The help entails getting out equipment and ensuring it is ready for classes. Helping with fire evacuation should the occasion ever arise. Helping our members who may need one to one help to achieve the exercises they'd like to do and ultimately improve their mobility and fitness levels and mental health. You would be helping someone who already helps in the class but needs an extra hand as there are quite a few people in this class .
Skills
No experience required but it would help to be interested in health and exercise.
Benefits
- Being part of a small team.
- Helping people with MS and sometimes other neurological conditions to reap the benefits from an exercise class.
- Being part of the wider group of volunteers of which there are approximately 60.
