  • Are you able to give approximately 3 hours each week?

Social Prescribing is a way of supporting people to find help for social, emotional or practical issues that are affecting their health and wellbeing. This could include health, housing, immigration, benefits, finances, education etc

Volunteer Social Prescribers will:

  • talk to people about the help and support they need
  • link people to specialist health and social support services
  • help with making appointments, reading letters, filling in forms, booking interpreters.

Support Disabled

Our offices are based at Community Base which is fully wheelchair accessible. Some of the volunteer work can be carried out remotely too so possibility to work from home if preferred. Volunteers are supported by a Volunteer Coordinator and we will do our best to support all volunteers as fully as possible.

When do I need to be available?

Details Most of the Volunteer Linguist role will take place during daytime hours Monday - Friday although we do occasionally attend events at weekends and in the evenings. The guideline time commitment is three hours/week though this is a very flexible role so it is fine for the hours each week to vary depending on the volunteer's availability.
