Volunteer PA

Since starting in 2019 TreeAction have delivered 7 school projects in Sussex, fundraising, buying and planting 20 - 50 trees in each school from funds we raised ourselves. The students are then caring for those trees as part of their forest school activities, giving them more connection with the environment.

Our Managing Director works on all aspects of the organisation, coordinating volunteers, working with schools, the local council and suppliers. We're a Community Interest Company (a not for profit similar to a charity). We are looking for someone who can offer 2-3 days a week.

If you have passion for the environment and supporting children's mental well being through tree planting and maintenance projects and outdoor learning this would be ideal, but enthusiasm and strong organisational skills are most important.

Skills

• Excellent organisational skills.
• Proactive.
• Good memory for names and numbers.
• Able to work with a wide range of partners and stakeholders including corporate supporters, council parks teams, councilors, families, teachers and volunteers.
• Experience of schools or environmental projects a bonus.

Practical Considerations

• Volunteering hours flexible around your commitments.
• Need to be able to volunteer from home and also meet with Director on-line or in person once a week 
• Ideally be able to plan your volunteering activities a week in advance.
